ELIZABETH AND JAMES FALL 2017

Posted on by Cameron Tewson

For Fall 2017, Elizabeth and James focuses on effortless wardrobe essentials with a twist. Subtle pops of colour, texture and cutout details elevate everyday pieces – giving the Elizabeth and James woman pulled together, yet relaxed options for day and night.

An emphasis on outerwear is seen with boucle wool coats in cocoon silhouettes while oversized peacoats and a cropped khaki trench offer cool updates on the classics. A sheared fur bomber jacket and curly shearling vest embody a laid-back attitude and approach to luxe materials. Brushed wool suiting highlights variations on fit and silhouette – skinny trousers and high- waisted wide-leg pants are paired back to waffle-knit and alpaca sweaters in shades of cherry red, blush and lilac. Feminine dressing options range from an embellished chiffon maxi and circle skirt to balloon sleeve midis and a double v-neck silk floral dress.

Bold accessories combine with a playful colour palette and novelty details to counterpoint the ease of the RTW collection. New sophisticated handbag shapes seen in the Eloise Shoulder Bag and Large Tote exude ladylike appeal in striking red hues. The favourite Market Shopper loved by all is perfectly updated for Fall in woven vachetta and grommet details. Crystal tea and berry acetates add femininity to dramatic eyewear shapes while the coveted aviator style is updated with the Reed in metal and acetate combinations.
