LCM: MATTHEW MILLER AW15

Posted on by Cameron Tewson

Resistant was the name given to Matthew Miller’s collection for Autumn Winter  2015. Miller said  ‘I want to destroy everything, I can’t help it, it’s in my nature’. The collection was inspired by romance and decay. Miller’s conceptual outing highlighted masculinity and political issues. For instance, jackets, coats and tailored trousers were shredded and ripped, then stitched or patched back together.

The collection had a strong reference of utility and destruction by attaching details from bomber jackets that walked the runway. ‘I personally wanted to challenge myself in terms of materials’, Miller said – giving the lineup an artisanal sensibility. Interior design fabrics were used on tailored blazers, fringed tunic tops and trousers.
