The number of celebrity-branded wines has grown steadily in the past few decades, from just a few brands in the 1970s to several hundred today (the celebrity wine industry is now worth more than $50 million in the US alone). Some are made for marketing reasons, some just for fun but roughly speaking, the ‘celebrity winemakers’ fall into two categories: those who establish their own winery and those who contract an established winery to produce a wine to their specifications.

Invivo X SJP Sauvignon Blanc, £10.00
Lead star of Sex and the City, Sarah Jessica Parker’s first ever wine was perfected in May 2019 when Invivo founders Tim Lightbourne and Rob Cameron travelled to New York City to create her new Sauvignon Blanc. They brought samples of the 2019 vintage, harvested in April. Over a three-hour session, Sarah Jessica and the Invivo team finalised the proportions from each vineyard to create the exact blending recipe used in the wine. Parker has also recently launched her new Rose too – perfectly in time for summer.
Miraval by Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, £19.95
Despite filing for divorce in 2016, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt still share their winery based at their former French summer home, Château Miraval. Miraval Wines was made in partnership with neighbouring Perrin family and the rosé is said to be particularly delicious, with notes of peach and wild strawberries.
Armand de Brignac by Jay Z, £240.00
Hailing from a small town in France, Armand de Brignac’s champagne was created by the Cattier family – 12th and 13th generation wine lovers whose family had grown vines in the region for more than 250 years. With sustainability at the core of what they do, price points for these bottles of champagne run high – around $300 (£241) per bottle. Hip hop royalty Jay Z first associated himself with the brand in 2006, with bottles with its trademark ‘ace of spades’ design featuring in his music videos. The rapper officially bought the company in 2014 for ‘an undisclosed amount’.
Ramona Singer Pinot Grigio, $14.99
One of the Real Housewives of New York Star Ramona Singer has her own Pinot Grigio and it’s a real hit. The wine is made from 100% Pinot Grigio grown in the picturesque, hilly Veneto region of Italy — the home of Romeo and Juliet, gorgeous Lake Garda, and distinctive wines that pair with the legendary local cuisine. The wine’s label was designed by Ramona herself – yes, she liked it that much she put her name on it!
Invivo Wine by Graham Norton, £9.50
The original celebrity to partner with Invivo is hit TV presenter, Graham Norton. He began his work with the winery in 2011 and even owns shares in the company. With a large range of wines that include everything from sauvignon blanc to shiraz and rosé, Norton’s wines have even been awarded over 50 accolades, including gold at the Global Sauvignon Blanc Masters and twice Gold at the Sydney International Wine Competition.
